Founded in 2015 by the Al Harthy family, who have deep roots in the Balad Sayt village, Mahalli was born from a passion to preserve and share the traditional lifestyle and culture of this unique mountain community.
The inn is housed in a beautifully restored traditional Omani building, crafted with local stone, wood, and traditional architectural details that echo the rich history of the area. Every corner of Mahalli reflects the warmth, simplicity, and authenticity that define Omani village life.
Meet Our Founder
Saeed Al Harthy, the founder and heart of Mahalli, grew up in Balad Sayt and carries a lifelong love for his homeland’s traditions and natural beauty. With a background in hospitality and a dream to share the magic of his village with travelers from around the world, Saeed opened Mahalli to offer guests a genuine experience that goes beyond typical tourism.
Under his leadership, the inn has grown into a beloved retreat known for its personal touch, family atmosphere, and dedication to sustainable tourism. Saeed believes that every visitor should leave not only refreshed but also connected to the culture and stories of Oman.
